Whoooooooooop. Whhhooooooooop! SAVINGS ALERT!

Straight Talk cell phone service is now Prince Thrifty Certified!

I awarded Straight Talk the coveted Prince Thrifty Seal as the best inexpensive cellular provider.

This just in: Consumer Rockstar Wendy from Connecticut dumped her Verizon phone service, switched to Straight talk and saved $60 per month, $720 per year!!!

Straight Talk uses Verizon cell towers, so the reception is identical.

No credit check required! No contract required! So there is very little risk here.

Straight Talk offers two basic monthly plans:

Plan A (casual user)

$30 per month plan gets you 1,000 minutes and 1,000 text messages and 30 mg of web browsing. This plan will suffice for most casual cell phone users, so if you are not a heavy user, I recommend trying this plan first. If you do and go over your minutes or texts you can always recharge the plan early, or seamlessly switch to the $45 unlimited plan later.

Plan B (unlimited everything)

Offers unlimited talk, text web and 411.

If you are a heavy cell phone user, or texter, this is the plan for you.

Straight Talk does not currently offer iphones, android phones or blackberries. So if you need one of these devices or are into heavy mobile Internet stuff, this isn’t the company for you. Both plans offer Internet, but it’s not the most dynamic web experience that you will find. However, if you don’t need an expensive feature phone and are only a casual mobile web user, you cannot beat the deal Straight Talk offers.

Prince Thrifty’s picks for best straight talk phones:
The LG 900G or the Samsung R355C.

Both of these phones offer Full QWERTY keyboards for easy texting, cameras and other features.

Ladies and gentlemen, BOTTLED WATER COSTS FOUR TIMES THE PRICE OF GASOLINE. This is an appropriate fact as the plastic that the water bottles are made out of is a petroleum product. 17 million barrels of oil per year are used in the production of plastic water bottles.

About a quarter of all bottled water, including Auqafina (owned by Pepsi) and Dansani (Owned by Coke), is drawn from municipal sources. Basically it’s glorified tap water. However that may be safer as the purity of municipal tap water is often more stringently tested than that of bottled water. Some studies have shown bottled waters to contain high levels of chemical contamination.

Scientists also have speculated that if plastic bottled water is stored in a hot environment, such as a car, that toxic chemicals may leach into the water—YUK.

According to the Container Recycling Institute, 86% of plastic bottles are not recycled, and they take up to one thousand years to biodegrade!
So, to sum up, drinking bottled water is uber expensive, bad for the environment, and potentially more dangerous (in terms contaminates) than tap water.

The answer is clear = stop drinking bottled water and instead buy a high-quality water filter and a couple of stainless steel water bottles. You can save $1400 per year, help the environment, and lessen our dependence on foreign oil.

ALERT! PRINCE THRIFTY HOT TIP

REGION: LOS ANGELES, CA

From Consumer Rockstar Prince Thrifty regarding Rockstar Rockstar, the artist currently known as Prince.

Prince has just announced more dates for his 21 ??? night stand at the L.A. Forum. in Los Angeles.

This is a huge entertainment savings opportunity because Prince, cool cat that he is has priced most (85%) of the tickets at just $25 including all fees! Some tickets are going for hundreds, however most have been price-capped at $25.

There is not really a bad seat in the house at the L.A. Forum. However I’m gonna hip you as to how to get the best seats in the house for $25.

$25? That’s almost as much as you pay to see a movie in many cities!

Why so inexpensive? Prince is good guy. He’s about the music and the fans and this is a great thing in this day and age.

His show is supposed to rock. Critics have raved about his band. Surprise guests such as Alicia Keyes have opened for him on some nights. Sheila E. has also made the scene.

PRINCE THRIFTY INSIDER TIP:
The best seats in the house are the front row of the Loge section. These seats are going for $25! The Loge is the first elevated section, so you’re slightly above it all. There is no one in front of you. You can put your feet up on the footrest. There is an area where you can place food or beverages. Any seat in the L.A. Forum is good. Especially any seat in the Loge section. However in this Consumer Rockstar’s opinion, the front row of the loge is the best vantage in the house.

Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on Monday, May 2nd at 10am PDT.

If you’re a Prince fan and want 2 B included in one of the best entertainment deals out there order your tickets as soon as they go on sale.

The early bird gets the primo seats. For your best shot at great seats, get on the horn to ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000) at about 9:55am PDT on Monday, May 2nd. Tell the customer service representative that you want $25 tickets in the front row of the Loge section.

Or jump online (www.TicketMaster.com.) and grab some great seats on Monday, May 2nd at 10am PDT.

I’ll see you at the show…

Live Larger through Thrift,
Prince Thrifty

Prince Thrifty is here to tell you, folks, that not only do you not have to lower your standard of living to save money, you can, in fact, raise your standard of living whilst saving.

Case in point. I only eat red meat once or twice a month, and I will only eat a trim cut of filet minion. Happily, my favorite neighborhood market puts filet on sale about once or twice a month. I recently picked up a beautiful half pound piece of filet for the reduced price of $4.50 (the regular price is $9.00). I spent another couple bucks on a sweet potato and a broccoli crown. I let the filet sit in a delicious Caribbean jerk marinade for a few hours, got my sides together, then broiled my steak to medium rare perfection. Yum. The point is, I could have gone to a disgusting fast food dump and spent more for a garbage-burger combo meal, but instead, I saved money and enjoyed one of the finest steaks west of the Mississippi (Prince Thrifty is a great cook).

In consumer negotiation as in life the moment when you gain momentum and success is the time to reach higher and charge harder, not rest on your laurels. When you are renegotiating all your business and household expenses with the simple Prince Thrifty System—which informs you of the proper channels to go through, what to say and how to say it to maximize your savings, you may be surprised at how easily Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) give in to your request for a better deal. Most of the time CSRs will quickly offer you a much lower price. At this moment, the thought of how much you will save will make you feel good, even giddy. While in this happy state, your instinct may be to say, “I’ll take that great deal, thanks.” However, the Prince Thrifty System will instruct you to keep a level head and make the CSR go the extra mile to keep you as a customer. The Prince Thrifty System will prompt you to ask, “Is that the best you can do?” No matter how good the deal that you are offered is, always remember to go for the “Cherry On Top.” Using the Prince Thrifty System will guarantee that you always get the absolute best deal possible when renegotiating all the goods and services that you buy and use. If a CSR responds that the offered deal is the best that they can do, the Prince Thrifty System will prompt you to suggest a Cherry On Top. The system will prompt you to suggest—“If you throw in a $50 service credit on top of your offer, we have a deal.” Remember this is not being pushy, these requests are all factored into corporate customer service protocols. Prince Thrifty was made privy to this inside information by top corporate customer service consultants, and when you use the Prince Thrifty System you will become the enlightened consumer that Prince Thrifty is.
